Plezafrique Development Center ("we", "us") provides professional training from Nairobi, Kenya. This policy explains what personal information we collect through plezafriqueinstitute.org, why we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you register for a course:
- Your name, email address, phone number, gender, nationality and academic level.
- Your organisation or employer and their contact details, if you provide them.
- Your course, dates and location, whether you need accommodation or an airport pick-up, and any message you add.
When you contact us or request information:
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number and message.
- Course brochure or schedule requests: your name, email address, phone number, country and organisation.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Trainer applications: your name, contact details, qualifications, experience and CV.
Automatically when you use the site:
- Technical details such as your IP address, and which courses and categories you view.
- Cookies, described below.
How we use your information
- To process your registration and send your invitation letter and invoice.
- To answer your questions and contact you about your training.
- To send course brochures and schedules you ask for, and newsletters if you subscribe.
- To understand which courses interest visitors, measure our advertising and improve the site.
- To protect the site from spam and abuse, and to keep records we are legally required to keep.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to run our services, with:
- Google, which provides our email, advertising measurement and the security check on our trainer form.
- Cloudflare, whose security check on our other forms helps block automated abuse.
- Our website hosting provider, which stores the site and its data.
- Authorities or professional advisers, where the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.
Some of these providers may process information outside Kenya. If you use our WhatsApp chat, your message is sent through WhatsApp and is also covered by its own privacy terms.
Cookies
- Essential cookies keep the site and its forms working.
- Advertising cookies from Google help us measure how our ads perform and may be used to show you relevant ads.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may stop working properly. You can manage personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including training, accounting and legal records. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections to our site and restricted access to our records. No online service can guarantee complete security, so please contact us straight away if you think your information has been misused.
Your rights
Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy.
- Correct information that is wrong, or delete information we no longer need.
- Stop using your information for marketing, or restrict or object to other uses.
